I created this blog to provide a forum to engage with other MDZS fanfiction fans, document ideas and provide prompts to writers, and share recommendations of great stories I have enjoyed.
MDZS stands for Mo Dao Zu Shi, a web novel written by Chinese author, Mo Xiang Tong Xiu (commonly abbreviated as MXTX). The English translation is: The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, or The Founder of Demonic Cultivation.
It has multiple multimedia adaptations, with a web series, animation, manhua, audio drama, game, to say the least! The Chinese live drama, Chenqing Ling (CQL), was a huge hit! It is now on Netflix under the English name, The Untamed.
Personally, I entered this fandom only in mid 2021, but I'm so happy that I found this gem of a story! The world building and complex characterizations leave a wealth of opportunity for fanfiction writers. I have been devouring fanfictions left and right for months, with no sign of getting tired of the endless options for story lines in this world. AO3 is my favorite haunt with its expansive filtering capabilities and subscriptions to keep track of stories in process.
At this time, I have not written any stories myself... but I have a ton of ideas and want to share those with others, who might be better skilled to author them. Who knows, maybe I'll finally work up the gumption to start typing one out in the future.
